Size – Download Time:
The most important issue to consider
when viewing the documents is allowing time for the documents to
‘download’ before trying to perform another task (clicking the mouse
button)! This cannot be
stressed enough; in most instances your browser may appear to have
‘locked up’ or crashed when in fact it’s just waiting for the
document to be delivered to your computer from our server. One good indicator is the
'E' icon in the upper right corner of Internet Explorer (the 'N' in Netscape or 'Circle' in Firefox);
these icons will be animated while it's downloading the file. When there is no more movement
the file should have completed it's download.
To help determine how much time you should give each document
before assuming it’s crashed, please look at how big the document
is ‘BEFORE’ clicking on the link (fig. 01), then use the
table below to roughly gauge the amount of time you should
expect to wait (table 01).
